Alexa Stais, a young South Africa showjumper who is currently based with Hilmar Meyer Sporthorses in Germany, was recently seen competing at the Agravis Cup in Oldenburg, Germany where she and her equine partner, Cougar 14 (Clarimo x Caretino) claimed victory in the 1.35m youngster Tour.

Alexa has been a top-level equestrian for most of her riding career with successes in both Showjumping and vaulting. Having grown up in an equestrian family, she began her equestrian career here in South Africa where she won numerous titles and events in all age categories for both disciplines and earned herself Protea Colours in both disciplines for representing South Africa at the Youth Olympic Games in 2014 for showjumping and the World Equestrian Games in 2006, 2010, and 2014 for Vaulting.

Lexi has been an incredible ambassador for South Africa over the years with having picked up several wins on the international circuit as well as being selected to represent South Africa at the World Equestrian Games in 2018 for showjumping. Unfortunately, Lexi was unable to compete due to an injury sustained by her top-level horse, Bjerglunds Cuba. This win kicks off an incredible return to competition after the COVID lockdown and we are excited for Lexi’s future and all the major titles she’s sure to win.
