The 3 week-long competition held in Oliva Nova Spain, as part of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour, has seen some exciting showjumping from South African showjumpers based in Europe with Genene Burnett winning her 1.40m Grand Prix early on in the tour and, most recently, Cara Frew making her comeback with her grand prix-level gelding, Imperio VD Coninckshoeve.

Cara took to the competition ring in Oliva Nova, Spain, with 2 of her horses: Palesta A.T.S, currently competing in the 5-year-old category, who jumped her way into a 6th place position in one of their classes and Imperio VD Coninckshoeve who recently made his return to competition.Following a tendon injury, the bay gelding has been out of regular competition since June 2018, however, Imperio and Cara have taken to the competition circuit once again and have produced 3 strong and confident clear rounds this week with Cara proudly taking to social media to celebrate the occasion, posting a video of his first round with the caption “Impi recovering from injury like a star ”.

While the pair are still working their way back up to the 1.50m/1.60m levels, the great start to their revived competition career is very exciting and we look forward to seeing them back at the top levels again soon.
