After officially retiring from competition at the 2019 South African Derby, one of South Africa’s most successful thoroughbreds in recent years, Fountain Of Love, now has a new and exciting journey ahead of her. This comes after news from owner and rider, Bronwyn Dos Santos, that Lilly, as she is affectionately known, is now in foal to none other than the striking, talented stallion, Capital Levubu.

The gorgeous grey stallion by Cashas out of a Cassini l mare, started his competitive career with Nicole Horwood whilst still under the ownership of Capital stud. Showing great talent and scope in his early years, it was little surprise that he would be scooped up by another top level rider.

Bronwyn purchased Levubu during the 2019 show season and has steadily been working on a successful partnership with him. Levubu’s striking movement and powerful jump make him a huge prospect for the top levels of the sport, and these are traits that will likely be passed down to his progeny.

Fountain Of Love herself is a remarkable mare, having won multiple 1.50m classes including world cup qualifiers as well as earning herself the title of highest ranked thoroughbred for 5 consecutive years from 2013-2018. In a sport where Thoroughbreds are no longer the first choice breed for the highest levels, Fountain of Love’s achievements are further highlighted and with this, a great level of respect has been earned for her from her fellow competitors.

By combining Levubu’s scope, power, and movement with Fountain Of Love’s agility, stamina, and grace, the foal has the potential to be a supreme athlete.
