The showjumping industry is constantly changing with new FEI rules, new partnerships, riders progressing into the top grades, and horses being sold to new homes. Unfortunately, the industry comes with both ups and downs and that is what makes the equestrian industry so humbling. While Mandy Johnstone may have lost her top ride, Lambus, a new horse has joined her string for team RotoFlo International.

Mandy Johnstone has been a long-time feature at the top levels of the sport with several great horses throughout her career. The most memorable partnership for Mandy was with the Callaho Warmblood Stud stallion, Lissabon. This stocky, bay stallion, with wonderful markings and an extraordinary jump, was a marvel to watch under the guidance of Mandy Johnstone who contrarily is a petite lady who looked undersized for the stallion. And yet, their partnership was magic. After the stallion retired from showjumping, Mandy was on the search for her new great partner and Europe presented her with an incredibly talented gelding, Lambus.

The boisterous, playful gelding, by Landos out of a Noblesse 26 mare, although small in stature, had an incredible heart and courage to spare. Springs in his hooves saw him flying high over the fences and claim victory in the 1.50m competitions in Shongweni, Polokwane, and Maple Ridge among others. Unfortunately, this partnership has come to an end as Lambus starts his 2nd career with Tanya Chelin.

While Mandy is currently without a top horse, team RotoFlo International has been distributing their string of quality horses among some of the best riders in South Africa and Mandy Johnstone has been the recipient of the young Capital gelding, RotoFlo Capital Hector. The bay gelding, born in 2015, is by Capital Homerus out of a Peter Davies mare and has been in the competition arena with Johnny Saleh in the 1m heights. This new partnership is a great opportunity for both parties as RotoFlo International picks up a top-quality rider in Mandy and Mandy is afforded the opportunity of working with an incredibly supportive team and a great young horse.

We look forward to seeing this new partnership grow and develop into a great success in the future.
