The showjumping industry is well aware of who Nicola Sime-Riley is – a two-time President’s Cup winner, former Derby winner, and Outdoor Grand Prix winner. We recently caught up with Nicola to get to know her a little better, where we spoke to her about breeding her own horses for the top grades. An all-round horsewoman who thrives off her passion for her fellow equines, Nicola loves producing her horses from the ground up. With her 2 breeding stallions; Fulvic Connoisseur and Sunny Park Stables Insaghi DB, making up the foundation of Sunny Park Stables Stud, Nicola is kept busy with all their quality offspring and her top future prospects.
The latest addition to Nicola’s future string is a lovely filly by the 2020 President’s Cup winner, Sunny park Stables Insaghi Db out of a Renderpruf mare. Although this new filly is only the second foal sired by Insaghi, the breeding qualities that he possesses are being displayed strongly in both his offspring. While breeding is a long game and the future is not guaranteed, Nicola’s eye for suitable breeding partners and top quality bloodlines offers her the incredible chance to create her own ‘superstring’ of top-level horses.

The ideology behind Nicola’s breeding programme is already displayed with her group of young 3- to 5-year-old horses including Consummate Prufessional, Concaro, Renderpruf, and Lebuboudini, who are sure to make great strides in the competitive arena as they display their notable bloodlines and showjumping quality.
