Silhouette Park’ Kaya van het Netehof Sold to 1.50m Rider

The team at Silhouette Park Equestrian Centre is often admired for its high level of care for horses and its constant stream of top-quality, talented horses. Partnered with Jonathan Clarke, Silhouette Park has displayed some formidable horses in the form of Morgan van’t Heike, Amore Warande Z who has since been sold on to Lorette Knowles-Taylor, La Vita who has been sold to Joanne van Achterberg, and Kaya van het Netehof who has recently moved on to another 1.50m rider, Bronwyn Dos Santos.

With guidance and assistance from Chad Cunningham, who has also been developing an incredible string of his own, Bronwyn has steadily built up her string to an enviable standard. Her current string includes her ‘flying unicorn’, Capital Levubu, who has been steadily progressing up the grades and impressing all who have laid eyes on him. A great stallion with enormous amounts of scope and presence, Levubu has been a perfect complement to Bronwyn who has gelled with her partner perfectly.

The most recent addition to Bronwyn’s string is the ‘freak’ Kaya van het Netehof, by Catoki out of a Codex mare. The term ‘freak’ has been used in a manner most affectionately by those who know her and have seen her incredible abilities. An unorthodox mare who canters around 1.40m tracks with her tongue hanging out, Kaya is small in stature but that doesn’t hinder her abilities. Instead, Kaya appears to have springs in her hooves and an immense desire to fulfil her duties. Coupled with Bronwyn’s own abilities and desire for top-level victories, the new partnership is an exciting prospect.

Having previously competed under Jonathan Clarke, Kaya was successful up to the 1.40m ranks, placing 3rd in her 1st 1.40m event at last year’s Burlington Cup. The change of ownership has seen Kaya move to the Kawena setup in Sun Valley, Kyalami. Bronwyn and Kaya’s first competition together was at the recent Puresan Stokkiesdraai Cup in Brits, North West where their first class yielded a stellar clear round. While the partnership is still new and both horse and rider will need to learn from one another, Kaya’s athletic traits and Bronwyn’s desire ought to yield exciting results as they progress.

We wish you the best with your new partnership and will be watching with great anticipation.
