The 2021 showjumping calendar has already started successfully for many athletes across the country. With the first national show under our belts and Carl Boonzaaier kicking off the season with a spectacular win at the Reonet Riders Grand Prix, several riders have also begun their new year with some exciting new partnerships including Govett Triggol, Ashlee Taylor, Michelle Fleming, Charley-Ann Crockart, Alexa Stais in Germany, and the latest rider to debut her flashy new ride, AAN-sponsored rider Tamara Rueda.

Coached by Gonda Betrix, Tamara is a competitive young rider who has seen many victories across the Junior, Young Rider, and Adult age categories. Her current 1.50m horse, JK Quantas 18 (Quite Capitol), has been a fantastic partner, enabling her to successfully navigate her way around her first 1.50m competition in 2018 at the young age of 19. The start of her 1.50m career launched her into a successful year of competition at the highest echelons of the sport alongside her numerous successes on her other horses including JK Callaho Liantos (Lissabon) and Baly 2.

In September 2020, Tamara announced the arrival of a new stallion to her string. Almost 5 months after his arrival, the tall, solid, dark bay stallion entered the arena for the first time in South Africa at the Reonet Riders Grand Prix in the 1.20m competition. Bred by the Zangersheide stud, by Je T’aime Flamenco out of a Namelus R mare, Just On Time Z was purchased by Tamara Rueda from the Netherlands where the 10-year-old stallion had been successfully competing in the 1.45m ranks. Following the pair’s debut, they were once again spotted at the Burlington graded event on the 20th of February. The striking stallion is an exciting addition to Tamara’s competitive string as he displays a great length of stride, scope, and competitiveness which will surely see the pair claim many victories in the future.

Congratulations Tamara, may your new partnership be everything you hoped for.
