No. 1: SA Outdoor Grand Prix Cancelled due to COVID-19

Of course, it’s no surprise that the most viewed article for December was the cancellation of the Outdoor Grand Prix just two days into the event. Due to several positive COVID-19 cases, the decision was taken to protect everyone who had attended the event. A great shame for the competitors but a decision no one could argue against and thankfully, most seemed to support it.

January:

As we close out December and look on to a new year, remember that the FEI Hind Boot Rules have officially taken effect for all age categories and will see all competitors competing under the same boot regulations. The new FEI 2021 rules have also been implemented. The January show season starts off slowly, to ensure a well-deserved break, with the first provincial show taking place at Fourways Riding Centre on the 16th and 17th while most other venues, including Maple Ridge, Kyalami Park, Dunblane, Eaton Farm, and Steyn City will kick off with their first show on the 23rd and 24th.

Please keep an eye on SA Showjumping as, with the current Level 3 COVID restrictions, the January/February shows could be affected. As always, we’ll bring the news to you as soon as it happens.
